Louise and Stuart were married last July in a wonderful ceremony at the Sandwell Register Office, a beautiful Grade II listed building with perfect gardens.
First to arrive, we walked around the gardens to find the perfect location for the couple before speaking with the attendants for the ceremony. Well versed in the needs of photographers, the staff knew all the best places to stand in the ceremony room.
Early March found the Leafturner team driving north when the frost was still on the ground and a mist hung in the air. It was to be a training day with Aspire, a great training team based in Kirby Lonsdale who specialise in hands-on training with trainers who are highly-knowledgable in their chosen subject. Aspire pride themselves on often working with “real people” for their shoots whether it be couples, babies or children. The training course we were joining, Shotgun Weddings, incorporates elements of the engagement shoot (getting to know your couple), wedding shoot (low light and churches) following into a second day which is all about the business of wedding photography.
Our first wedding, in August 2011, Steve and I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of Sharon and Andy. Admittedly a family affair, with Steve’s wife part of the bride’s party, this was, nevertheless, very much a fun and full-on wedding. With the ceremony taking place in Preston’s Registry Office, it was out to Leyland for the dinner and photographs.
